I need your input Lean and Agile

I will be holding a talk about Lean at the Software2010 conference in Oslo on Feb 9th (http://www.dataforeningen.no/index.php?id=4663451 sorry in Norwegian).

But I really need your input, the theme is:

“Why is Lean important?”

Lean is commonly known among economists, what does Lean have to do with Agile and why is it important”

I believe that using Lean vocabulary when communicating with management is the most efficient way of getting them on board with Agile thinking.  Lean is generally accepted; mainstream a well known approach both inside and outside of manufacturing as well as being a part of University level curriculum (check out: http://lean.mit.edu/ ) .

What are your feelings about Lean and Agile and why?

I would love your input send an email to me: jessicarbh@gmail.com

Just a taste of that candy isn’t enough

Imagine you’ve been given a taste of a piece of candy, and it is the best most succulent piece of candy you have ever tasted.  The taste lingers on your tongue and you can almost smell it not just smell but feel the smell of it in your pores, you are completely aware of synapses firing, imprinting the desire for this candy.  You know you have to taste it again even if it’s only once, you tell yourself that just once more will be enough, but another taste is not enough, you need it, crave it.  It becomes an obsession.

All logical sense, knowledge and experience tells you that this is just a physical reaction to being given small tastes, and because you can’t see the whole candy bar you cannot know if it truly is as tasty as you think.  And even all this understanding does not stop your physical, intense, distracting craving.

So you eat different candy, trying to find something that will re-create that sensation either be better or different enough to distract you from the obsession.

Luckily there is a lot of really good candy, and the experience of trying out different kinds is after all pleasurable in and of itself.

But, oh, that craving – so intense.
