I know this will get me in trouble – a political rant
I can’t help it, it really annoys me to hear the whining coming from some of my fellow citizens. “We are so disappointed with Obama, he hasn’t done anything”.
Give me a break!! After 8 years of rule by the biggest Moron through the ages, you really expect a change overnight? You give him one year – ONE and you figure that he can snap his fingers and fix the economy?
We are all experiencing the consequences of our collective greed, what we need to do is use our energy not on whinging and whining, but on demanding changes to our financial systems. And no, not de-regulation, but MORE regulation. Let us make sure that greed does not lead us down this path of distruction once again.
But come on guys, change takes time. Our country is severly damaged there is no quick fix, it is going to take patience and a whole lot of cash to make up for the Moron and all his minions, and its not just him, it is a history of greed going back a long way, and yes it is bipartisan greed. I do however, feel the need to underline just how unbelievably moronic, retarded and boneheaded the last pres was. And you who voted for him bear a great deal of responsibility for the expensive and damaging politics that were carried out. Voted for him once, fine, but twice??? How on earth is it possible to not see just how much of a jackass he was?
I am lucky an expat, living in a country that has been hit harder by swine flu than the financial crisis, so I know that I cannot really relate to the hardship of unemployment or losing my home. A country that has excellent universal health care and yes I do pay a great deal of taxes – but guess what – it is worth it.
And just to be fair, politics here in Norway are no better, they are all morons, but they are cute innefectual morons, with a positive spin, they all agree at the core level about taking care of the citizens and residents of this country. Even our most extreme right wingers, believe in our universal health care, maternity leave etc. But morons nonetheless. I cannot complain too much, because as a non-citizen I cannot vote. I can still think that they are morons – and I do.
Maybe I have just lost faith in the political system, regardless, I feel that Obama will and does make a positive impact on the world, but we must be patient, we must keep perspective.
Ok, enough ranting for the night.
Long time.. back again
I know it has been a long time since I have written anything. It has been a turbulent and tough time, and I have needed some time to “find” myself again.
Life is, as always interesting, a mishmash of feelings and experiences.
The pure joy of watching my son learning to read, negotiating his way through firstgrade. He is so smart, an engineer already, wanting to know how stuff works. He was so cute, at my step-dads birthday party asking how the Christmas cracker he had just pulled works.
The hardest part of shared custody is missing him. I am glad he has his dad, and I know he happens to have the best dad on the planet. He is cherished just as much there with his dad as he is with me. But it gets harder, this shipping him back and forth. I miss him.
I have been having a great time lately, I had a blast when challenged to do a spur of the moment lightning talk at Smidig 2009, I am really grateful for the opportunity! It was a great challenge and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!!
Boy, I really want to do more of this – need a speaker – just ask! It is in Norwegian but here it is

Ok, time for bed.
